ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 It was more fun after game 1
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2009 Author Posted October 31, 2009 Game 3 in rain delay --- so if they get started late tonight on account of the rain to the point where they're still playing when it reaches the time when the clocks get turned back, do they then have to go back and re-play the previous three innings?

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I just got home and I see they're in the second inning and I thought they we're just playing slow.I can't see that turning back the clock would subract three innings. One and a half, anyhow.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Hey, 1-0 on a Werth homer! And Feliz is allowed to hit also! Wow!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Twee-zip. This is nice. And Cole Hamels hasn't read the script, either. Not the Daily News's script, anyhow.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 boy, hard to tell conclusively either way whether or not that would've cleared the fence... i think it'd hit the top of the railing. whether it would bounce up, being a home run, or down, being a double, i couldn't tell you.what i can tell you is that there's no fucking way fox's camera should've been overhanging the field like that.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Oh, A-Rod giveth and A-Rod taketh away. E-5.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2009 Author Posted October 31, 2009 - So, essentially, TV is both the cause and solution to the questionable HR.- As much as the result sucked, if that's me team and I don't get the call I'd be pretty pissed.- So since everyone seems to know that ARod's playoff hitting this year was a result of his "head being in a better place" and that he's "so much more relaxed" now and maybe even attributable to Kate Hudson, how do we now explain the errors, the strikeouts, and (until just then) the hitless WS?The 'effect then cause' reasoning of so many in the press is as fallible as it is predictable.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Fuck this. I'm going to get an extra extra hour of sleep.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2009 Author Posted October 31, 2009 What a revolting turn of events!

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Girardi will be hailed as a genius with what Swisher is doing tonight, not to worry though , Officer Joe Blanton on Sunday
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 I feel so stupid considering all the people I had to sleep with to get those tickets.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 OK - I give the MFYs this much credit. I like the fact that they are opening up their stadium to their fans tonight so they can watch the game on the big screen. I'd like to see the Mets do something like that for big road games.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2009 Author Posted November 1, 2009 Do you think FOX - whose demand for extra off-days has stretched the WS past Halloween - sees (or even notices) the irony of their still-running ad campaign which proclaims: 'You Can't Script October' ?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 When did Ryan Howard start trying to look so mean at the plate?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2009 Author Posted November 1, 2009 I wonder if someone has kept records for most mound conferences in one series - because whatever it was I'm sure the Yanx have broken it already.Between visits from Girardi, the path worn out from the plate by both Posada and (especially) Molina, plus the endless pilgrimages from Jeter they gotta be averaging at least three per inning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2009 Author Posted November 1, 2009 I was just about to say how disappointing it's been that the Phils haven't been running - and then Howard of all people steals a base.I thought [u:mhpcadzp]not[/u:mhpcadzp] starting the runners when Rollins & Victorino were on the other night against Rivera and Utley at the plate with a 3-2 count was Manuel's biggest mistake of the series so far. Utley then GiDP'd on the next pitch.
Guest jerseyshore Guests Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 okay, I said I wasn't gonna watch the series, but after having sat through my South Carolina Gamecocks being embarrsed by Tennessee and then suffereing through the Giants being humiliated by the Eagles, I thought perhaps the sports Gods were telling me something. So I turn on the game, only to see Ryan Howard stealing second base???? What type of alternate universe have I entered?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2009 Author Posted November 1, 2009 And then Howard scampers home on a line-drive single. Even on Damon's arm that was hardly a given.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2009 Author Posted November 1, 2009 (edited) Will the person who ordered the bushel of cheap hits please report to CBP to pick up your order. But Blanton really has only himself to blame with that leadoff 4-pitch walk to Swisher Edited November 1, 2009 by Guest

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 And isn't Ryan Howard's speed vs. Johnny Damon's arm the kind of World Series matchup we crave?

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Stinking Phillies are going to stick it to us one last time.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2009 Author Posted November 1, 2009 There are politicians up for election this week who haven't done as much lobbying over the past month as Posada has just tonight -- in both halves of the innings too.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 I'm rooting for former Met Chan Ho Park here. I like the beard -- he looks like his own evil twin.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Interesting. What would Bizzarro Chan Ho's name be?
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Two ropes for outs by Rollins and Victorino.
