Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Royals trade Mark Teahen to the White Sox for infielders Josh Getz and Chris Fields.Devil Dogs trade 2B Iwanura to the Pirates for reliever Jesse ChavezTeahen is expected to play RF for the White Sox next year, meaning they will reject their option on Jermaine Dye. Dye is a shitty outfielder and had a down year offensively, but would be a nice sluggo for the bench, but will prolly wind up DHing somewhere.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Dye won't accept a backup role. He had a really crappy second half this year.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Teahan's a good player who can play IF and OF. Good pick-up for the White Sox.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Teahen's the kind of bench guy the Mets should be going after. Instead, they'll probably throw Alex Cora another 2 mil.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Teahen's too good to be a bench player who you'd have to pay his team starting player prices to get - and will probably make in the $5-7 mil range this coming season.Nor would that prevent you from needing either Cora - or a Cora type of player - seeing as how Teahen can't play SS.

Dye won a gold glove..10 years ago.Ron Darling stated in the booth he liked Teahan..I beleieve Teahan hasn't developed much to date.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Until Teahen starts playing shortstop, we're talking apples and oranges.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 I'm just kvetching about the quality of the fruit.I need to install a punching bag in the apartment.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Didn't the ChiSox acquire Rios to play right field? And didn't he incur the wrath of Ozzie for sucking? (I posted a quote)But they kept playing him.Maybe that's why Dye slumped more than anything. And maybe not.But Dye may still be worth further consideration.Later
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 Rios will play center, Teahen right. And both will incur Ozzie's wrath for sucking early and often next year. That leaves the Sox with a hole at second base, and I'm still for selling Castillo while we can.

So he brought some marijuana into the car, drove in a manner that drew attention to himself, and left his pipe where the cop could see it. Good thing your arm works, kid.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Lincecum a pot-head? No way dude!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Not one bit surprised to learn that Lincecum smokes pot. Bruce Bochy will now demonstrate what smoking pot can do to a pitcher on the mound.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Bruce Levine of ESPN (I'm not familiar with him) says the Cubs have talked to the Blue Jays, Angels, Rangers, and Mets about a deal for Milton Bradley.Maybe this is true, but if so, my guess is that it was the Cubs trying to push Bradley, rather than the Mets looking to pry him loose from the Cubs. But who knows?
