metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 (edited) Is it a bit early to post this? From the SnewzJohan Santana may pitch against his former employer in 2010, but it wont come in Minnesotas new ballpark.A preliminary schedule for next season reveals that the Twins and Tigers are scheduled to visit Citi Field, the Daily News has learned. The Mets also expected to visit Cleveland, in addition to the customary home-and-home series with the Yankees. The Mets last played the Twins and Tigers in 2007, and the Indians in 04. The Amazins went 5-10 in interleague play this season, tied with Arizona and San Diego for the worst in the National League.Other than the Santana connection, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of storylines. The Indians' roster includes ex-Met Joe Smith, while you may remember Anderson Hernandez was originally acquired from Detroit for Vance Wilson. Edited August 13, 2009 by Guest
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Damn - I was hoping the Mets would visit Minneapolis instead. Now I'll have to plan a non-Metsian trip to the new stadium.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Seems strange that we would get the Twins and Tigers again out of the AL central teams, and a home series against the Twins, to boot (they were just here in 2007!).We are overdue for a visit from the White Sox (they've never played us at home) and either a visit from or a visit to Kansas City.
