nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Sheff coming up, needs a flyball with 1 out to tie this game up.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Creepy Sun Baby misses you, Alex Cora, and wants you home.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Awwwww.... raspberries.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Double-switched in, sorta.Let's see. Sheff's a bit tender in the leg to start, yet, so let's just PH him... and leave him in to play LF on wet turf.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 So...according to gameday, that play was scored 7-5-4, runner out at home. What happened?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Single to left, throw to the plate cut off by the thirdbaseman, who nailed the batter-runner at second.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Ok, thanks. Clearly just a gameday screwup.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I don't like the way the Mets have the thirdbaseman do infield cutoffs on the left side. He's got better things to do.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Guess this confirms Figueroa for tomorrow's start. I guess Misch goes but I wouldn't be sad if it it was Redding instead.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Through six-and-a-half. Perhaps seventh-inning stretching will help with the bat-swinging and such. Tomorrow's a tough one-- let's pick it up.LET'S
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I see Pat Misch finally worked his way into a game.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 So, that decision to take out Pagan and leave hobbly Sheff in left has cost roughly 1.5 runs. (Will estimate that it's about 50-50 Sullivan, if he's playing LF, gets to the single two innings ago fast enough to get or hold the runner at third.)
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Okay, I have to say it - what kind of a name is Fieldin Culbreth?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Valadius wrote:Okay, I have to say it - what kind of a name is Fieldin Culbreth?Apparently, MLB had to reach down to AAA Hobbiton for a vacation-cover ump.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 He's a regular umpire and has been for years. He worked the World Series last year.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Bleh, the bats went to sleep and didn't wake up again. Again.Seven point five out in the WC, with many many teams in front. Don't think it's going to happen.
