Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 1999 was full of cool wins like that. It was like the opposite of these past few years.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 We left that game early. I fucking hate myself and never forgave Mrs. Ted for wanting to bug out early.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 That was a wild back-and-forth game long before the Franco hit ended it - and I remember being so keyed up by the end of that game that I jumped on my bike in an attempt to ride off some of the pent-up energy.I spent the next 45 minutes or so pedaling away while replaying the thing in my head to the point where I was virtually oblivious to my surroundings. And then at some point I briefly lifted out of my fog to discover that;a) I was about 12 miles from homeand that it was raining
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Silly Matt Franco. Didn't he realize the forecast called for applause falling like soft rain on Mariano that night? He ruined it.Freaking Klapisch.
Methead Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Yeah, it's funny, but I remember where I was when that happened too. I was on vacation on Cape Cod, listening on the radio as I pulled into the parking lot of the driving range. Luckily the game ended right then, otherwise I would have sat in the car until it ended. And yes, I have had decent luck picking up WFAN on the Cape. Only in a car stereo though.
