Any plans to commemorate 1969 this year?

August 22nd.

Not loving the idea of a shirt with "69" on it for rather obvious reasons, but they already reprinted the yearbook, twice, and reprinted the WS program, so not much else they could give away.

Cards maybe, but I guess its possible they got too many complaints about the short shrift they had with the Topps packs from 2006.

A better question, I wonder if there are any plans for a 2000 NL Champs reunion next year? They generally do for the 1973 guys, so I wonder if the 2000 guys will get the same treatment?

* Courts permitting.

So it seems to me the biggest names on the outside looking in are Shamsky and Boswell. It'd be kind of funny if Shamsky doesn't show up, as he's New York-based and shows up for a lot of 1969-type events. Will commitments to the Modi'in Miracle keep him away?

Interesting about Ryan. He declined the 25th anniversary in 1994 (and so did Seaver), and wasn't at the 1999 one (which was the last time the Mets actually staged an Old Timers Game).

Most of that crew is also appearing in an area card show that weekend as well. I'll go back and check the announcement for Boswell and Shamsky.

August 23rd at The Huntington Hilton in Melville (598 Broad Hollow Road)

Show hours are 9am-4pm, 5 bucks to get in (kids under 12 for free)

Scheduled to appear:

Ryan, Seaver, Koosman, McAndrew, Gaspar, Swoboda, Garrett,
Kranepool, Jones, Dyer, Weis, Pignatano, Jackson, Harrelson,
Charles, Pfeil, Yost, Gentry, Grote, and Taylor.

Plus a special bonus in Dwight Gooden!

Obviously huge premium prices for Ryan and Seaver, everyone else I guess is standard show prices for items.

HA! No, just saying I'm sure the Mets promotions department will get some complaints about it.

You actually can't do "69" as a customizable NFL jersey, which prompted me to say that I wasn't loving the idea.
