You got what you wanted today, as the Mets not only released Wily Mo Peña and Javier Valentine, but they also cut ties with Bobby Kielty.

Bobby Kielty! He had barely even gotten to bat! Thirty-three trips to the plate!

I have a vague memory of when he signed some time ago....

Buffalo down 7-4 with onegone in the ninth and a runner on, and Fernando Martinez geets pinch-hit for against a righty as the Herd sends fellow lefthanded batter Jesus Feliciano up. This frightens me that Beltran may soon be DLtran. The Herd, meanwhile, managed to rally for two runs before Michel Abreu whiffed.

I have no problem with the Mets loading up on vets in AAA for a few months to see if they pan out. Obviously this bunch didn't. I just hope that the perennial "who the heck is this guy" keeps finding a way to contribute to the big team, i.e. Timo Perez, Endy Chavez, Anderson Hernandez, Nick Evans, Daniel Murphy, Omir Santos, et al.
