Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 And Rolen says thanks for the support/cheesesteaks by driving in the go-ahead run on a full-count single. Somewhere in the city, a small child throws his first battery.Jays 4, Phils 3. Adam Lind (2-4, HR) up, 2 on, 1 out, top 10.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 'bout time the Jays scored a run. They've had like 34 base-runners over the last 3 innings and have scored exactly twice (my count may be off a little).
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 'Jays get another as Clay Condrey walks Alex Rios with the bases loaded.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Two more walks, including one from Designated Asshole Alex Rios, and Toronto's got 5. Still just one out, and Condrey's finally coming out. This bullpen-goes-boom stuff is so much more fun when it's another team, you know?(It bears noting that this save/win is being blown by the bullpen's two stalwarts this year: Madson and Condrey, with 4 walks and 5 hits between them in 1 1/3 innings.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 And now it's 8-3 and I think we're safe on this one.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 MFYs won 5-3: All of Washington;s 3 runs coming on a home run by... would you believe... Anderson Hernandez? Nah, not a HR park.In positive news, Captian Fistpump leaves the game with an ankle injury.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Phils & Jays knocking heads in an afternoon tilt. The back 'n forth affair is now tied 7-7 heading for the 9th.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 HR Barajas off Madson8-7 Jays, bottom 9Yanx v Nats heading for their 4th hour of rain delay
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Phils get two on in their half of the 9th but can't get one in and the Jays complete the sweep.Would suck if we couldn't take advantage of that tonight.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 MFYs still in a rain delay after over 4 hours. The Yanks don't want a repeat of last month's rain fiasco.Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of fans.Later
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Yankees are down 3-0 in the top of the ninth. A Mets win and the Yanx losing 2-of-3 to the Nationals would be the gravy on my cupcake.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 "The Nationals are so horrible that a Yankees loss to them is virtually inexcusable." --- Ken Davidoff You're right. You ought to resign.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 In tonight's Binghamton game, Nick Evans hit a home run off a pitcher named VanAllen.http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=g_box&gid=2009_06_18_binaax_haraax_1I guess you could call it a VanAllen belt.Later
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Clicked over to the Marlins game and noticed a decidedly non-ARodian presence manning third for the MFYs. Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Madson vomits up a 2-run lead for the third time this week on two 9th-inning Oriole home runs, and the Phils are losers for the fifth straight time.(Sad counterpoint: the Mets have gained just 2 games in that span.)
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 Yankees lose 2-1 to Florida on a bad drop in the outfield by Damon. Captain Scrotumfan with the key GIDP in the 8th.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Hamels goes 8 innings and strikes out 10, walking none, against a surprisingly-potent O's lineup. It's to no avail-- the Phils lose, 2-1, for their second straight series sweep.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 In Miami the Yanks pulled CC Sabathia in the second with biceps tightness. Looking at him out there on the mound it's hard to believe that anything on his body is tight, but whatever.I check back in and it's top of the ninth, two on and two out, FLA up 6-3. Brett Gardner lines a triple into the gap to make it a one run game, Damon walks, and (ta-daaa) Cap'n Crotch grounds out to end the damned thing.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Its great that the Phillies keep getting beaten during the Mets recent problems. But like Blanche Dubois, the Mets can"t rely on the kindness of strangers indefinitely.Later
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 10-1, Phils over Rays. Moyer goes 7 strong. Thanks a lot, you fucking Fish.
