Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 5/15: Fall behind 4-1 in the first inning. Down 5-1 after two. Down 6-3 after six. Clutch hits by David Wright. Putz and Delgado unavailable. Livan starting. Reyes limited to striking out in a pinch hitting appearance. Come back to win off the great Tim Lincecum on the road. Score the winning runs in a tie in the ninth.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I went to bed, it was 5-1 and I woke up fully expecting to get confirmation that they had lost.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2009 Author Posted May 23, 2009 5/23 in Boston: 2-run homer with two out in the top of the ninth by Santos to take the lead (after an umpire review). Bottom of the ninth: Wright saves a double with a diving stop, Castillo saves his errant throw to get an out at second, after a line drive out to Pagan, Ramon Martinez(!) makes a diving stop in the hole to close it out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 Yup! I was just about to go looking for this thread.Definitely a top win.IMO, folks should use this thread to nominate any game they think may qualify so by the end of the year it'll be easier to whittle it down to a top 10.Same with the worst losses thread.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 I just hope this becomes a very long thread.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I wanted to make sure you could find this thread.

Hopefully it is just one of many lopsided Mets poundings (favoring the good guys that is).Swan Swan H Jun 24 2009 08:28 PMI factored in the need to bust out after last night's handcuffing, the emergence of Nieve, and the fact that my least favorite manager EVER got his head handed to him in a Ziploc bag, while watching his squad perform rather poorly in the fundies department. If only LaRussa could get the job managing the Yankees.
