Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I have a Yankee fan, a friend from youth, writing to me. Included is the following:As for my team, Joba being a douchebag is the least of our worries. How about the team fleecing its fans with these rekidulous priced seats. You cant find seats (that arent obstructed view) for under $35, and those are almost all owned by season ticket holders whove been priced out of box seats. I was in San Diego last month and I saw the Padres play the Giants with Lincecum pitching. The seats were 10 rows directly behind home plate and they only cost $40. How does one begin luring someone back from the dark side? The Star Wars method --- kick their ass until you are able to solict a dying breath conversion --- doesn't seem very viable.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Living well is the best revenge.Don't get embroiled in an emotional tug of war. Let him see how much better life as a Mets fan can be.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Can an adult switch rooting interests? I guess I know the answer is yes, but I don't quite understand it.

(That's been THEIR recruiting spiel-- "Come to us, we're winning-er than your team"-- for a bit, no?)Fman99 May 11 2009 01:53 PMLike Darth Vader himself, your friend is likely a horrible scarred mess, more machine than man, and beyond redemption.I'd kick him in the puss. Then, when he's rolling on the ground and gasping for breath, slap a Mets hat on his ass and run away.Alternately, you could wear this T-Shirt and hang out with him:Fman99 May 11 2009 01:53 PM="John Cougar Lunchbucket":1uilxnis]Punch --> neckKick --> ****[/quote:1uilxnis]Boo ya!
