Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Oh, Nyjer... if you let go of the bag, it won't be your bag anymore. An unorthodox CS-- Morgan tagged out after sliding past second-- and two deep flies, and young Mr. Niese is out of the first.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Ahoy Ye Mateys! Captain Niese on the mound and Karstens walking the plank
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Couple of hits, couple of steals, a sprig of Delgado to perk up the flavor (and cut through the shift)... and you got a stew going!Niese looks to be settling in nicely. (In the batter's box as well-- line-drive single for the youngun in his first ups.)
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Niese now has the highest Mets batting average
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Guh. Way to communicate.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Niese is making a case for himself tonight.Five nice innings so far.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 That was a nice decoy play an inning or so ago by Reyes when Niese threwa bad pick-off throw to first after Morgan already left the bag. The ball sailedinto the foul territory abyss and Reyes kept Morgan at second instead ofhim winding up on third or worse.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Niese has been solid (though Morgan, Sanchez and Mclouth seem to have him solved). Otherwise, we be wendin' our way through some doldrums, me hearties.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Ken Takahashi Fan Club +++++++
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I wonder why they go to Green (ERA 8.76) instead of Stokes (ERA 0.00) there. And I wonder why they don't have cameras installed in the bullpens, and instead force us to look between the fences for a glimpse of the relievers.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I'm not joining the Ken Takahashi Fan Club until he doubles off of Randy Johnson.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I think we should refer to the bullpen as the bullcave until further review.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Now I'm visualizing cattle hanging upside-down from the roof.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Parnell throws some smoke. Fun to watch.Let's Go Mets! OFFENSE!
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 OK, top of the order in the bottom of the eighth. Time to strike!LET'S
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Steal, don't bunt. Or steal, THEN bunt.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Get the rally caps on. First and second, no outs, big bats up.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 This has the makings, it does. Of what, I'm not sure.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I got my rally Toolsheds on.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 So now that we got a lead aren't you tempted to run Parnell out there again for the 9th?I would
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Putz didn't shave off that landing strip of his to sit in the 'pen.
