Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Sunday, April 5 at 11:00 AM the Mets are having an "open workout" prior to their departure for Cincinnati.Tickets were distributed to all ticket plan holders. Seating is general admission. Parking $5 if you drive. Concessions open. They did something similar in 2006, so you can probably expect it to be something like a batting practice plus the shooting of t-shirts. Nothing fancy, but an opportunity to come check out the new stadium certainly.I don't get a charter flight to Cincinnati so that means I'll be missing this. Have 2 tickets to give away if anyone here is interested. Don't have a trivia question or anything so if there's interest, send me a PM and I'll draw a name randomly.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 MK and I will be attending. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to check out the new park (I think MK is looking forward to the opportunity to check out the new concession stands ).
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 my NL-only auction is that day or i'd be there. enjoy yourselves!
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Pretty cool way to go get a sneak preview of the new joint. I have two ticketstoo if anyone wants them or if they want four and can get Gwreck's tix too.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 I gave away one pair already but it turns out I have another as well. So feel free to send a note if you'd like to go.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 Mine are gone...thanks for playing.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Plans change, I'm going go out for an hour and two and check out the new girl.Concessions? Do they serve beer at 11:00 am?Tacos ... mmm.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 We'll be there on Sunday, courtesy of the incredible Gwreck. Looks like it'll be chilly but clear. Hoping we can squeeze MiniWolf in -- word on the street is that it's a 32" maximum to not need a ticket, but considering it's not a real game, we'll just have him act short. BabyGirl should be no problem.Kase and MK -- see you there? Buzz me at some point and we'll try to meet up.Anyone else?
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 I'll be there, with MK in tow. We plan to be there shortly after the gates open, to give us time to find our brick, check out the rotunda before it's too crowded, etc.Let me know if MiniWolf needs a ticket - I will likely have a spare ticket (my older son would rather sleep in than make the early train).
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 If you know you'll definitely have an extra, I'd rather have one than have to potentially fight to get him in -- especially considering now that I think about it, he's going to whine if he doesn't have his own ticket.

I'm going to call it a night in a minute, but we can firm up plans tomorrow.
