Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I am thinking of a game that Matt Franco won in our last at-bat where he hit a shallow pop fly that fell in driving home the winning run. I think it was against Houston. Franco rounded first, causing Bagwell (like I said, I think it's Houston, if it's not, it obviously wasn't Bagwell) to remark something along the lines of "You hit the shit out of that one." Our hero smiled and yelled back emphatically "I'll take it!"Can't find the game though. I thought it was in 2000 but a scan of the boxscores on UMDB was unsuccessful.Anyone remember anything along these lines?

I thought that was a great description.Like all bench players he eventually reached a point where he couldn't do what he did the year before, but it sucked to see him in Atlanta.Fman99 Jan 28 2009 08:04 PMI attended that game. Took my wife (girlfriend at the time) and this was her first ever trip to Shea Stadium. We sat field level up the right field line and it was a comfortable night game. Good times.
