Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Both the Phils/Nats game and the Cubs/Brewers game are 3:55 EDT FOX telecasts, although those in NYC are getting Yanx/Sawx.If we've already lost by the time these get started then the Philly game becomes meaningless. If we've already won then we can't be fully eliminated no matter what happens. In Philly it's a pair of lefties, John Lannon vs Jamie Moyer (we've lost to both this month)In Milwaukee it's LHP Theodore Roosevelt Lilly (yes, that's his real name) vs Ben Sheets (off his death bed, or something like that)
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Sheets has been shaky and we have Santana going today. Reason to be hopeful.I'd really like tomorrow's game to mean something.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Daryle Ward hits a two-run homer in the first for the Cubs.Cubs 2, Brewers 0, bottom of the first.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Thanks to yankee Rain Delay the BREWERS are currently on FOX 5 in the NY area, enjoy!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I'm getting Phillies-Nationals, which is also important but I'd rather see Cubs-Brewers.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Thanks to not living in NJ anymore, I'm getting Cubs-Brewers. Lilly Ks the Fat Prince of Bel Aire.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Terrible, lazy looking throw from Ronny Cedeno gives the Brewers a baserunner. Wake up, Cub schulb!
Guest KC Guests Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 FK: although those in NYC are getting Yanx/Sawx<<<Thankfully my twenty something mile north buffer zone got me out of that.I'm getting Cubs/Brewers. Anything else, especially an unimportant Yankeegame, mighta sent me over yet another ESPN/FOX edge.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 The overly broad FOX blackout rules really screw over Mets fans right now. The 3:55 games are not on either mlb.tv or Extra Innings and NY is stuck with a meaningless MFY game. In DC, we have the Nationals-Phillies when I want to see Cubs-Brewers.

We all have Cubs-Brewers now.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Author Posted September 27, 2008 And a bases-loaded single and it's 4-0 Cubs and Sheets day is done.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I suspect they're panicking and pulling him to set him up to pitch against us in a possible play-in.Weeks singles to load 'em up.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I'm guessing Lilly gets pulled after five.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 FOX just switched NY area to the philly game.
Guest KC Guests Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 They hate Mets fans. If they can't give us Yanks the won't let us watch theCubs beat up on the Brew Crew, and make us listen to Tim McCarver to freakin' boot. I hate network baseball.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 FOX has returned us to Milwaukee for now.

I hate network baseball.Don't get all paranoid on me in your old age pal. They're probably going to bounce back and forth like CBS does with NCAA hoops based on which game looks more interesting at that moment. If the Yanx do start, however, I'm sure they're contractually obligated to show it here.Phils jump up 2-0 without hitting a ball hard all inning.dink, bloop, walk, sac, walk, etcLilly no-hitting Brews thru 4.I wonder if his Lilly's relief will be Eddie or Grandpa?
Guest KC Guests Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I'm wired, FK ... I'll shush on that topic lol. Jeannie tells us the Sawx game is postponed and there will be a double-header tomorrow.

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Ted Lilly is a nice man.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 5 Perfect Innings for Ted Lilly. 60 pitches.Another inning is still a "playoff tuneup" in my mind, but what if he doesnt?I'd pull him after 6 no matter what.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Ahhh who are you, Joe Buck?I'm not a superstitious man but I'm grasping at straws here.Dammit keep him off the bases.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Ted Lilly is an American Hero, and I'd pull him when he's done being one.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Washington stranded the tying runs with nobody out in the top of the 6th.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Lilly walks a batter, but still has a no-hitter

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 No hitter gone, Lilly lifted, Milwaukee with 1st and 3rd and no outs in the 7th.
