Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Did he fuck up the sign to Murphy last night? Or did the kid miss it? If the bunt was off and he kept trying at it, why not go down and just tell him?Nifty slide by Church, but if not for that, he was going to be out by fifty feet. Plus he should have sent Delgado last night. In both cases, it ended up not hurting us, but is it too late to fire coaches? Can Sandy step in for the last series? Can we borrow Manny Acta for a weekend?

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Switch him and Oberkfell. I've been saying it ever since that game against the Phillies where he lost us* the game by sending two runners to their death at home plate.* Well, him and the 'pen giving up 7 runs in the 9th.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I didn't think it was possible to be worse than Sandy as third base coach but this guy is making a push to be. A thankless job for sure , I would like to know what happened last night with Murphy.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Sandy? Bite your tongue.I was OK with holding Delgado even though, as the play unfolded, I was so certain he'd have scored that I didn't even watch him hold up. Instead I was watching the fielders. But with 0 out, yada yada blah blah blah. You're right we'd all be killing Aguayo if Church is tagged out but I don't know how many 2-out hits we were gonna get. As Jerry said he was mad at Church for not having started that play on 3rd base. The one baserunning play that scared me more than all of those was the cursed Murphy triple. I swear he was losing velocity between 2nd and 3rd and have been an easy target at 3rd but for a bobble on the relay throw.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 Gary did go a little crazy which was funny , what I liked there though was how Keith and Ron disagreed with him after watching the replay , made for great TV.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 I think Gary was right. With Beltran representing the go-ahead run, I thought the Cubs centerfielder was thinking second base all the way.
Guest attgig Guests Posted September 26, 2008 Posted September 26, 2008 I thought Delgado should've been sent. I was going crazy watching it.Church was saying in the articles that he would've gone no matter what. even if he saw a stop sign, he was going.
