G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Cards murdering Cubs at Wrigley late in game. Need them clinched by Monday if for no other reason so they don't win their division at Shea.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2008 Author Posted September 19, 2008 Brewers lose!!2/3 of the way to a late-2008 version of Triple Happiness!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2008 Author Posted September 19, 2008 Sheffield gets plunked by seriously, I just used a racist word when I really meant "Guardians"' Fausto Carmona and clearly wasn't happy about it. He then get even more pissed off when Carmona tried a pickoff once he was on 1st ... so he charged the mound from the basepaths.Pinhead!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2008 Author Posted September 20, 2008 That Geovanny Soto HR might have been the death blow the Brewers won't recover from. Not only was it obviously a devastating loss, but merely by sending the game into extra innings it forced Sveum to bring in the scheduled next day's starter Seth McClung for 2 innings, which in turn screwed up the rotation.Last night Jeff Suppan was started on short rest and coughed up 5 runs before he got the first out.Today Sabathia will start on short rest as will others down the line and who knows when or even if Sheets will pitch again.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Wouldn't it be hilarious if they fired Sveum? Next up: Robin Yount!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Wait that didn't work... Ben Oglive!Jim Gantner!Mike Slaton!Gorman Thomas!Jeromy Burnitz!
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Milwaukee loses to Cincy, 4-3.If this keeps up, the Wild Card will come from the East!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 In the 8th, Marlins had 2d and 3d, 0 out, a grounder was thrown home, the runner slid under the tag, by CB Bucknor, one of the worst umps in the game, called the runner out. The inning ended with Moron Cody Ross K'ing with 2d and 3d.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Amezaga (already 3 for 3) works out an 8 pitch leadoff walk against Lidge.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 ...but they can't get him in and lose.I'd like it if the Marlins best player (Hanley Ramirez) doesn't play against us, either. Apparently he's out with some shoulder problem.
