Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Brewers tacking on in the 9th. It's now 6-2, with one out. (A runner thrown out at the plate.)
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Gonna take one hell of a rally now.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 With two out and nobody on, the Cubs get a baserunner on an error and a run-scoring single. (6-3)Tying run on deck. DeRosa batting. Can the goat become a hero?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 He does! (Sort of.) He singles into the gap and the tying run is at the plate.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 SOTO TIES IT WITH A THREE-RUN HOMER!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Holy crap! I got goosebumps!

HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Yay Cubbies!Brewers with a blown lead to rival any Met blown lead this year.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Somebody sent a nice fruit basket or something to Giovanny Soto.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 (SLAPS BEN GRIMM HIGH FIVE!!!!) I GUESS EVERYONE ELSE HAS JOBS OR SOMETHING!!!!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Fukudome grounds out to end the inning.I had to switch from the Brewers broadcast to the Cubs broadcast because Milwaukee lost its sound. The Cubs announcers are chuckling with glee.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Centerfield wrote:(SLAPS BEN GRIMM HIGH FIVE!!!!) I GUESS EVERYONE ELSE HAS JOBS OR SOMETHING!!!!Yeah! What losers! Are you watching too, Centerfield? Or following on the Internet?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Brewers go quietly in the 10th. Marmol energizes the crowd by striking out the last two batters.Johnson, Soriano, Theriot due up in the bottom of the inning for the Cubs.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Obviously the worst thing a manager can do is remove Guillermo Mota.I had been wearing a Wrigley Field shirt I got many years ago. Disgusted at 6-2, I switched out of it. Moral: Never do anything remotely pro-Cubs if you want something out of them.
Guest KC Guests Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I've been watching the Brewers feed since about the fifth inning. I don'tknow about not having a job but it's so nice out I'm thinking I should geta life being glued to the tv. The Brewers booth sounds stunned.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 I want a Soriano home run here.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 He does the next best thing: Called out on strikes.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 Theriot fans too. (These strikeouts don't fire up the crowd as much.)Kerry Wood in to pitch the 11th.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 On to the 12th.In the top of the 11th, Wood struck out the side.In the bottom of the inning, the Cubs got two on but didn't score. Edmonds was ejected; getting a quick thumb after questioning a called strike two.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I really thought Soto was going to end it.(Following along on Gamecast).
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Brewers get 2nd and 3rd no out in the top of the inning, fail to score.First and second, one out for the Cubs now.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Now first and third, two down. Up to Derek Lee.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 LEE SINGLES!!!! CUBS WIN!!!!!
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO HIGH FIVE...

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Centerfield wrote:Nice shirt Fafif.Credit an assist to the Pirates and PNC Park, the shirt I went to at 6-2 Brewers.Good lord, we've got this and we've got Santana going tonight. We were given the moral equivalent of Brant Brown. Let us not blow with it.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Holy crap I was just thinking that. (I was also thinking how we didn't make the playoffs that year. Sorry, I'll stop that.)
