The Mets tie the game on Wright's double. Endy made them throw him out at the plate - only a perfect throw from Rollins kept the Mets from taking the lead on the play.

Vamos Carlos! Delgado's 2-run Kaboom gives the Mets a 3-1 lead.

That home run by Delgado was pretty awesome. He seemed to adjust at the very last instant then absolutely smashed it, off the ground and into the sky.

Oh, well flies out this time.

Was Charlie Manuel run? I had the sound down but he had a beef with that attempted pickoff of Reyes.

Yep.
For arguing a check swing called no swing during Delgado's at bat, according to Phils broadcast.

The Phils played that well all around and so because they did everything right a mediocre throw would have had him too.
Keith was all over that as a good play but, with no outs, I'm not as sold.

Yeah, Manuel was run between innings, presuably dicsussing the non-call on the Delgado half-swing a coupla pitches prior to the HR

That was a nice shot.

I like Jerry's strategy of having the Mets keep on scoring :)

It doesn't matter whether it's true. It matters whether the players think it's true.

If we can get 2 runs with bases empty, 2 out and Marlon Anderson up, anything is possible. Jerry for MOTY.

Good point.

I'm so glad the Willie Randolph days are behind us.

Meanwhile, Santana's thrown 76 pitches through 6. (And Blanton has thrown 109.) Johan's looking like he can go 8 today. I think he'll eat more innings than Blanton will.

I wish Johan would get off the give back runs after we score strategy. I know it has been said before by others, but he does seem to do it quite a lot.

Who put Sandy back at 3rd base? Jeezus

Lead off double by Endy. The Mets really need to cash him in to get back the run the Phillies scored in the top of the inning.
