Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 I noticed this morning when pasting the current Mets stats, that the team has used 41 players already, which seems like a lot.So I did some SQLing, and it turns out that, if the Mets stop at 41, that's not an especially high total. But since there are over 60 games remaining to be played, and possible trades and September call-ups, the number is sure to rise.The most players ever used by the Mets in a single season is the 54 that were used in 1967. (The Mets came close to challenging that record in 2004 with 52 and in 2003 with 50.) The fewest ever was in 1988, which was a pretty good year, when the Mets used 32 players. Here's how many players the Mets used in each of their 47 seasons so far:1967 54 2004 52 2003 50 2007 49 2006 49 1998 49 2002 48 2000 47 1999 45 1997 45 1995 45 1962 45 1990 44 2001 44 1992 44 1965 43 1989 42 2005 42 1966 42 1964 41 1993 41 2008 41 1982 40 1983 40 1963 40 1980 40 1977 40 1973 40 1984 40 1991 40 1996 40 1979 39 1987 39 1985 38 1981 38 1994 37 1976 37 1975 37 1974 37 1978 36 1986 36 1969 35 1971 34 1972 34 1970 34 1968 34 1988 32
