Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Johan Santana, potential walk-off hero.
Guest KC Guests Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Relief corps getting it done, nice job by Heilman/Wags/Sanchez.LET'S SCORE A RUN, I'M FREAKIN' TIRED, ALREADY.Sorry, didn't mean to shout.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Duaner hit 91.Well, Gameday says 90.8.And that's the release speed. But it's nice to see him throwing something like big-league cheese.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 P.S. -- Things I disagreed with: letting Evans hit.Was fine with Chavez leading off, but since he hit for Castro, Schneider had to come into the game. And in extras, he obviously wanted Chavez in the OF. So not hitting Schneider for Evans (who I maintain cannot hit major league pitching, in the sample size we have) is not a good move.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 The thing about hitting for Castro is that if he would have gotten on you'd almost have to run for him anyway.I think Willie's been playing this one well tonight.I was wondering why Mainer PR-ing instead of Santana but saving Johan for the potential hitting slot was smarter.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Sanchez has 2 Mets plate appearances to date: a K and a HBP.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Sanchez doesn't watch his bunts. Only Reyes.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Tell them guys to be quiet. I don't want the Fish to know JJ is too deep!!!!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 And on to the 12th they go. I thought he had gotten enough of that one.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Besides Willie, I also want to say the Shea fans have done a decent job tonight.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 SNY is showing clips of the '69 Mets singing "You Gotta Have Heart" on the Ed Sullivan show.

Guest AG/DC Guests Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 There's been a lot of "first homer of the year" type moments of late.
