Reynolds matches a career high in strikeouts before the 1st inning is over.

Most nights you just need a quality start... but sometimes you need a heroic effort from your starting pitcher.

I don't mean to misplace blame for the lousy week we just had but Maine went out and el crappoed all over the place Monday, and it really set us off on poor footing.

Go on Ollie and start us back right.

I had a killer week and intend to enjoy this one out back with an icy cold golden frosty beverage.

Endy beats out an infield single. Reynolds now walks Ollie.

It'd be nice to see the top of the order show up at the dish here.

Castillo gets a bloop single, in front of the already drawn-in outfield, and Endy comes in to make it 2-1.

Now first and second (Reyes) with 1 out for Sugarpants.

The broadcast crew mentioned that Omar has made the trip to Colorado though he had not originally planned to come.

When asked if Omar would confirm that Willie was in "no imminent danger," Omar replied only that Willie had their support.

The saga continues.

Meanwhile, Marlon Anderson came up lame running up the first base line. Looks like a hamstring problem.

Shades of Endy Chavez. Jay Payton for that matter.

OF's dropping like flies this week.

I think it looked more like a ligament in his ankle.

In any event. it's pretty much the last thing we needed tonight.

Burkhardt mentioned that a big meeting will happen in NY Monday or tuesday , Fred , Jeff ,Omar and Willie , it sure sounded like this team needs to win some games this weekend , but even that might not be enough.

These days that's been any day ending in a Y.

You can't continue to pitch with that sort of margin for error. SOMETHING'S GONNA BLOW!

I dunno. I don't wanna be one of those awful fans, but I'm thinking we were fast approaching the day where we'd have to get rid of Anderson one way or another.

Yet another walk from O.P. That's 6 through 4 2/3 innings.

I think this will be his last inning -- he's up near 100 pitches and clearly doesn't have his good stuff.

AG/DC - "...SOMETHING'S GONNA BLOW!"

Too late, the team already does.

Perez topping out at 91 tonight. Yikey. No control or velocity? We're lucky he's only let two runs in.

Hard for the Rockies to hit the ball when Perez can't throw it over the plate. Perez threw 102 pitches, with a whopping 53 of the being strikes, in his 5 innings of work.

Got out of it, though.

LET'S GET SOME RUNS!

Far as I'm concerned Ollie has struggled well tonight. Compare this not-my-best-stuff night with Maine's outing the other day and you know, it don't suck too much.

I'm pretty certain I've seen the futire of rock and roll and his name is Valentino Pascucci.
