Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Good for them!I'm always in favor of successful teams in Baltimore, Boston, Toronto, and Tampa.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Six in a row too. They can't be stopped. We beat them in spring training over and over.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 It can't last with this roster , I hope I'm wrong.http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/team/roster_active.jsp?c_id=bal
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Luke Scott is batting .500, Aubrey Huff is slugging .667 and Steve Trachsel toes the rubber tonight after getting a win in his first game goign 5 2/3 and giving up two earnies.Trachs was traded to Chicago last season for the stretch run, played terribly and rejoined the O's in the offseason. That's just so Baltimore.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 i wonder - do they say 'welcome a-trachsel' in chicago?no, probably not.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Their pen is practically un-scored upon.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 i wonder what that must feel like
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 ="AG/DC"]Your Baltimore Orioles.I thought it was my Milwaukee Brewers.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 On the subject of small samples skewing early results, not only are the Orioles still tops in the AL East (by 2-1/2 Games!!) but three other divisons are also being led by teams picked by many to be cellar dwellers: Marlins, Cardinals & Royals- KC is 5-0 against Tigers & Yanx (one more vs NYY tonight) after they probably would have settled for 2-3 if offered the choice pre-seasonOnly the two west divisions are currently headed by logical choices: Arizona & Anaheim
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Royals look pretty darn good. Joakim Soria, in addition to having one of the coolest names in MLB history, is unscored and unwalked upon currently, and has 4 saves already.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
