="AG/DC"]Here comes Carolyn Maloney.

Who thanks Clemens for his professional accomplishments....barf.

But then she hit him with some very hard, very basic questions.

Asked him why he repeatedly told peeps he never knew Mitchell wanted to talk to him when on 60 Minutes, he told Wallace he opted not to based on his lawyer's advice.

Clemens then threw his agent under the bus saying he was never properly notified.

She then asked him if he'd agree that his agent did him a great disservice, to which he of course, responded yes.

She asked him next if he fired any of these people who kept this damaging information from him and fumbled a bit and said no.

Did that next guy just ask him what hat he'll be wearing in the HOF???

Jim Baumbach doing the blog on Newsday says Maloney " just caught Clemens in another potential perjury moment" with that line of questioning....

]

She got Clemens to agree that he told Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes that he did not speak to former Senator George Mitchell because he was advised by his lawyers not to.

But in his deposition with the committee investigators, Clemens said six times that he did not know Mitchell wanted to speak to him. "I had no idea Senator Mitchell wanted to speak to me," he said in his deposition.

Roger's having a hell of a time trying to answer why he continually employed this guy who is supposedly a real scum bag. He's stammering and stumbling his way through this one...

"Mr, Clemens, I'm sure you are going to heaven"

I couldn't tell, was that supposed to be sarcastic?

metsguyinmichigan - Debbie Clemens: "So, THAT'S what the underside of a Greyhound looks like."

Thanks for the laugh. The longer Clemens is questioned the more crowded it's going to be under that bus. He's already tossed his agent under the wheels and I won't be surprised if former teammates and some of his legal team eventually end up keeping Debbie company.

Sports Illustrated's Richard Deitsch from his blog: Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) thanks Clemens for "all he has done for New York." Gee, I didn't know Suzyn Waldman was in Congress.

Roger is selling out Debbie on the stand?

This is one Valentine's Day when flowers and chocolate just aren't going to do the trick.

Hello Fitness Friends!

I have always been reluctant to tell others what I think would be best for them. I only know what works for me and I stay disciplined to that plan of action. I am happy to share what I have learned over the years with you in hopes that you will take this information and insight and develop a plan of what works that suits your lifestyle.

As a wife and mother, keeping in shape is difficult with all the commitments, distractions and schedules that require nurturing and time. Its easy to put yourself on a back burner. Work with these things, not against them. Find ways to mix your kids activities with your workouts and find other mothers that want to do the same.

I have always been the type of person that never allowed myself to be more than 5 lbs overweight, knowing that 10 lbs was really hard to lose. I use my workouts to release stress and improve my focus and thinking. Because I love to eat, I have always worked out. I never wanted to deprive myself of something I wanted to eat, therefore, that determined how much I worked out. I would be eating something and it will be so good that I would have just one more bite. I still do that today. The difference is that I have found a way to eat everyday to keep my energy up and not gain weight that fits my lifestyle. Believe me, its not easy. Everything worth doing is worth doing well. Effort must be put into it. You can have hope and expectation, but you must put the energy into it to reap the rewards.

I believe you have to challenge yourself by setting goals. I have always participated in the goals that my children and husband have for themselves. I always talk to my husband and children about their goals, listened and supported them in their dreams. What I did not realize was that my children were growing up fast and that I was not setting goals for myself. I thought about the seasons of my own life.

Roger came to me one day and told me that we had been asked to do a photo shoot for Sports Illustrated. I had major anxiety! I was a 39-year-old mother of 4! Once I realized that this WAS going to be a reality, I decided I had to give it everything I had. My mind was set. I am not a risk taker, but have since learned that with great risk, sometimes comes great reward. The responses from that experience have been wonderful and I feel it was a turning point in my life. Its nice to have a goal for yourself and to see it through. The goal kept me motivated and focused. Using common sense and my ability to balance my life, I achieved that goal.

You can look forward to frequent updates so make sure that you continue to check back!

Best Wishes,
Debbie Clemens

I watched about 15 minutes while eating lunch. With all the talk about nannies, parties, illicit drug use, rape, perjury, yadda yadda, all I really wanted to here was Clemens sworn testimony about why he threw that damn bat at Piazza.

Newsday.....

]

So the most interesting aspects of this so far, off the top of my head, in no particular order ...

Clemens' nanny says Clemens was at the Canseco house, while Clemens says he wasn't ...

The nanny also says Clemens contacted her prior to handing over her name and number to the committee, giving the appearance of "impropriety" ...

Backs up McNamee there....

]1:45 p.m.

Rep. Bruce L. Braley (D-Iowa) just basically gave a shoutout to his son who's sick at home watching the hearing on ESPN.

SI's Tom Verducci: "Stephen F. Lynch (D-Ma) was a star of the last congressional hearing when he pushed baseball on therapeutic use exemptions. And the congressman came up big again when he showed that rather than get involved in grandstanding, he went out and did his homework to be prepared for the hearing. Lynch and his staff studied an MRI report from Clemens' days in Toronto, regarding an abscess, and consulted with medical experts. In one case Lynch redacted Clemens' name and had a medical expert examine the MRI report. The doctor's findings show that Clemens' buttocks problem appeared not to have anything to do with B-12 shots or a strain, but were more consistent with steroid injections. 'Given the physical evidence, [it] seems consistent with what Mr. McNamee is saying,' Lynch told Clemens. Dr. Ron Taylor, the Toronto physician, told Lynch that he gave 'close to one thousand B-12 shots' and never had such a complication. Asked about it, Clemens basically called out Taylor as either being wrong or incompetent. 'If he gave me a bad shot he gave me a bad shot,' Clemens said."

Un-fucking-real .

from Stark's blog.

Could the Rocket be investigated for illegal B-12 use, too?

Sounds like it isn't out of the question, after Rep. Bruce Braley asked him whether he had been diagnosed with anemia, senile dementia or Alzheimer's. Or whether he was a vegetarian or a vegan.

They were moving along nicely till the vegan stuff came up.

"I don't know what that is," Clemens replied. "I'm sorry."

Sheez, and we had him pegged as a closet vegan, too.

Turns out, Braley informed him, those are the only approved medical reasons for anyone to get a B-12 injection.

Really? Then blame Roger's mother.

"My mother in 1988 suggested I take B-12," Clemens said. "I always assumed it was a good thing, not a bad thing."

Fortunately, Rep. Darrell Issa jumped in to defend both Clemens' mother and B-12 -- and not a moment too soon. Issa said his own mother had taken B-12 shots, and that it couldn't hurt you and might help you.

If that's the case, it's surprising no one has ever injected chicken soup on the advice of their mother.

My rep. I've been asking to work on ending war and torture. I'll have to give his office a call.
