Pick a Major League city and try and come up with films set there:

Obviously, since every other movie is set in New York, we have an advantage there. But there is some interesting competitition among some others.

I'll start with Pittsburgh:

The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh
Flashdance
Heart of Steel
Rockstar
Striking Distance
Sudden Death
Wonder Boys

St. Petersburg, FL

Cocoon

On edit: The Rookie, a movie about a Tampa Bay Devil Ray seems to be an obvious choice but according to IMDB was filmed almost entirely in Texas, with scenes at the Ballpark at Arlington.

San Francisco has Bullitt and all or most of the Dirty Harry films. The Bond film with the Christopher Walken villian is also set there in part.

St. Pete also has Loren Cass and, um, Cocoon: The Return, I guess.

Tales of the City is also iconic San Francisco. Electric Dreams is a lesser-known favorite of mine.

Maltese Falcon.

Surely you can do better than that for Seattle. How about It Happened at the World's Fair? How about Singles? Take your city and run with it.

I didn't.

I think an added challenge for New York should be one list exclusively for Queens and one list exclusively for the Bronx. That should keep us from having to scroll down a long list at least.

San Francisco should also have AFTER THE THIRD MAN, favorite of mine since it's one of the few New Year's Eve films (and for the identity of the murderer).

Boston
The Departed
Fever Pitch
The Last Hurrah

After the Third Man?

I know about "The Third Man" and "After the Thin Man."

Are you referring to the William Powell/Myrna Loy sequel to The Thin Man?

The Third Man would definitely bat third forSan Francisco. Bullitt would lead off.

The cleanup hitter, of course, would be So I Married an Axe Murderer.

I'd say The Third Man should be credited to Vienna, if that city ever gets an expansion franchise.

Well, I don't know the movie. I guess he's conflating.

Cubs & White Sox fans fight over the entire John Hughes catalog of films.
Winner gets the first draft choice from the quartet of actors (Moore, Perkins, Lowe & Belushi) in 'About Last Night'

I think Wrigley is in Hughes' psychological zip code.

Sox fans get The Christmas Story (the old man was a Sox fanatic, even if the film didn't say so, Eight Men Out (natch), and I don't know what else.
