Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Meanwhile, in the City of Brotherly Love, the Marlins are leading the Phillies 6-3 through 8 innings.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Cooper raises the white flag and sends in defensive replacements for Biggio, Berkman, Lee, and Loretta. Might as well rest his stars so they're fresh for the stretch run...oh, right. Okay, Willie you might want to consider relieving one or two of the regulars.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Willie counters with Gomez for Beltran, Chavez for Alou, Gotay for Wright and DiFelice for LoDuca. I wouldn't mind seeing him get either Reyes or Castillo out of there while he's at it.Edited to include Gotay in for Wright, which JD pointed out.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Then the broadcast team (or the Mets' media notes) missed that Joe Smith AB the other night.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 The Goat is in for Wright. I thought CarGo was hurt or something.

If Reyes doesn't jam up last inning, we'd have 8 or 9 by now. What good is an IGT if these things are not explained?Guess I have to open more windows and do some detective work. With the bases loaded, Wandy bounced a potential double play ball up the middle. Reyes booted it, but it went right to Castillo who turned the double play.It was bounced softly enough that it was no guarantee that they'd turn it, and they might have turned it faster on the boot than otherwise. The game's other highlight, with the Mets up 5-2, was Milledge catching a shallow liner off of Biggio's bat, and rather than coming up cool, pulled it out of his glove shaking it to show everybody --- "Did you see that?! Did you see what I did?!"Gold. What's Alomar got to do to get into one of these game thingies?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Edgy - "What's Alomar got to do to get into one of these game thingies?"Go Tanya Harding on DiFelice?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 The Marlins aid the Mets cause by dispatching "the team to beat" by a final of 6-3.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Bitches always told me I only got into the game because my dad was the coach. Alomar proves that guarantees nothing.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 And that'd be a typo (COLAZZO) on the back of Willie Collazo's jersey. Someone fire Charlie Samuels.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 My first look at Willie Collazo (pronounced Coy-Yazzo by Gary). Little bit of Feliciano in him.Oh, and make him the closer.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Gil Hodges was honored tonight in a pregame ceremony as he was inducted into the US Marines Sports Hall of Fame. Gil's widow Joan was present, along with several Mets (Seaver, Harrelson, Swoboda, Kranepool, Ed Charles). Nice pregame ceremony. Seaver (who is also in the US Marines Sports Hall of Fame) spoke about Hodges, calling him the "most influential person" on his baseball career.--Gomez was called up today. He had been playing in NOLA the last couple of days.--Reyes was *really* excited to have that triple. Looked like he knew it had been quite a while since his last big hit.--Endy made a spectacular running catch in the top of the 7th. Beltran (who had also run towards the ball) was surprised that Endy had gotten there, gave him a nice pat on the back afterwards.--I'd been to a lot of games this year but this was the first real ass-whoopin I've seen all year.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Mets by the Numbers would like to know whether the name was spelled properly on the black road jersey Wednesday.
