I'm curious about his swing. I'll never forget how after his initial swing he would retrace his swing in the opposite direction seemingly as fast.
Why did he do that? How did that habit start?

Before I wrote this I searched for forum for an answer but couldn't find one.

I guess that for every Ed-action there's an equal and opposite Ed-reaction ... or something like that.

In other words, I have no idea.

I can't recall ever seeing Ed Kranepool swing a bat. That's what I get for being a youngster.

It was a sight to behold. I was always concerned that he would kill a catcher on the backswing.

Sure, the Crane pool.
The cranes are normally gentle critters as they splash around, but occasinally they tend to fly a bit low and buzz just over the heads of unsuspecting posters. Otherwise the water's pretty nice.

Welcone, Rookie.

As part of your initiation, you will have to jump up on that virtual table in the middle of the room and sing your school fight song.

Oh, my screen name stands for Mets Fan Since '62.

Great question. I saw Young Ed Kranepool (as he was called by the announcers) swing. Never heard about why the reverse swing, either.

Ed Kranepool, being a '60s/'70s kinda guy, probably had a swing like this:

At my age, I must be a tad hard of hearing.
Couldn't get it.
But thanks for giving it a shot. :)

Wow! A profanity-laced school song! Must have been a great party school.

We have an even newer member who just registered under the name of '_____-'
I wonder if we can call him '___-' for short?
