Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 According to UniWatch, this was a failed prototype Mets batting practic jersey a few years back:I think their solution to the notion that orange and black is too garish or clownish (it's not), is to "class up" the game clothes by adding black, and go in the opposite direction with the warmup/spring training gear by making it eye-averting obnoxious.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Good lord. The weird fusion of Knicks uniform onto Mets sleeves is horrendous.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 If I was a big league player I'd never put that phony pregame cap on my head except, I guess, when it's probably required. Like in a spring training game, for example. But during warmups I'd wear my regular cap until somebody physically MADE me switch caps. And then I'd go back to the real cap as quickly as possible.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 that'd be great if the mets ever decided to play football...
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Saw a version of that at the game last night but it was orange with some gray in it.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 That's gotta be from the mid eighties,Man United had one that looked a lot like that, except the colors of course. From the 1984/85 season.
