Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 ="Kid Carsey"]Z: >>>WOW--Kerry Wood in to pitch for Cubs<<<Oh come on, hardly WOW worthy.Im easily WOWd. One bump and Tommys done. Now--if we dont hold this lead--4ghettaboutIT.Ill say the opposite of WOW.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 With the bottom of the order up, an extra day of rest before his next start, and a 4 run lead, I thought Willie gave him too quick of a hook. His pitch count was only 102 at that point, too.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Well, that's one out past where he got last time ... he just leaves with a bigger lead in this one.C'mon Mota, I just sang your praises in another thread.Justify our newly found faith in you.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Yikes, first-pitch yips again from Mota...
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 They gotta make this thing stick, fans have no dog in this quest for 300 andneither do the the Mets really in this week of dumb landmarks.OE: in other words .. let's get it over with already.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 Kid Carsey wrote:OE: in other words .. let's get it over with already.Agreed.The sticky stituation now makes not PHing for Glavine with 1 man on and 1 out even that more stupid.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 The Mets bullpen seems determined to make this game exciting. Willie signals for Heilman to relieve Feliciano who had relieved Mota. I hope we don't burn the entire pen finishing out this game.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Heilman gets Theriot to harmlessly fly out to Milledge in centerfield.Mets lead now 5-3 through 7.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Castillo & Milledge now 7-for-7 with two walks !!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 "When the season is over, I'm sure you'll see him stealing bases as well as Reyes does." Joe Morgan on Luis Castillo, top of the 8th.Morgan = imbecile.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Wright and Castillo trying to make the game pen-proof.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 Wright napping on that double-steal attempt. Double off the wall for Delgado!!!
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Zvon - "Dont see how we can burn em out when two throw 3 pitches and one throws 7."I was thinking only in tterms of this game. Delgado drives in Castro with a double off the ivy in RCF. 6-3 Mets and still no outs with runners at second and third.

What's she gotta do with it?Ha.I was thinking in terms of reverse and that would make WOW still WOW.But none of those words will suffice if the Mets dont win this game.BIG HUGE GIANT double by Delgado and the Mets get one right back.If Wright followed up on Castillos steal we have had 2.Ill take one at a time tho.More please....
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Green has a chance to put the Cubs out of their misery with an extrabase hit.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 (edited) This is where you'd want a decent RH hitter to go up for Green vs a LHP and then stay in for defense. That's what Ben Johnson was hoped to become, or maybe Chip Ambres.Or even Milledge if Beltran was starting.* And I just became Rocky Swoboda!! Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Delgado's pullin' the ball off the crappy part of the bat and reaching the ivy is encouraging

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Paulie justifies his carping about not playing.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 real nice piece of hitting by Paul. All runs are big here.Lastings pops out and Marlon gets a chance to keep it goin.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Two outs as Milledge out on infiled fly rule. Bases juiced for Anderson.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 No Joe, we're not getting Wagner up yet, it's only the 8th inning.Dang! We were one more hit from blowing that thing open.
