metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 That deal for Johnson/Adkins turned out pretty good for the Padres.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 Hank Owen's shoulder hath blown out on him. But, you know, he was good before that.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 i still like Johnson and would make that trade every time.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 The situation with Heath Bell is frustrating. He had absolutely nothing left to prove in the minors, and yet he seemed to refuse to take advantage of the opportunities he had to stick with the Mets. And now he looks like an All-Star.I don't dislike Johnson, but I don't see him as ever being more than a reserve in the Mets' outfield. And I'm not sure clearing out the relief arms at AAA while making multi-year commitments to Mota and Schoenweiss was a good strategy.
