Only a smart play if you make it. Incredibly stupid otherwise.

Franco caught stealing ...

3 outs to go up by two. Let's hope those early game LOB's don't come
back to bite us in the boo boo.

Hate to break it out, but ...

LET'S

Funny how Torre who says these games mean nothing is bringing in another
pitcher to face our senior citizen batter with two outs and no one on.

He does that every game though.

Franco getting thrown out? It doesn't bother me. Get to scoring position with two out.

But he didn't get to scoring position with 2 out.

Oh how I hope so

But w/2 already out and a guy up who hasn't gotten a ball past the pitcher's mound all game (despite two hits) he's unlikely to score playing it conservative.
I didn't have a problem with the try and it took a perfect throw to get him.

Actually I was kinda excited to see Gomez having an at-bat with the count in his favor for once, and was disappointed to see it end.

I was daydreaming about how cool it would be if he could somehow his game together up here. You know? He's getting tested plenty and maybe he starts learning something.

E88: >>>He does that every game though.<<<

I don't watch Yankee games, so I have no idea what Joe does with two outs
in any situation, unless I catch it on ESPNNews.

I'm least funny when I try to be.

Anyways, nice to see Perez outlast Asshead ... would have liked to see a
couple of more runs scored, and freakin' Delgado not look like such a schlub
at the dish, but we only have to wait half-a-day to get win number two.

I agree..Lastings Milledge..we hardly knew ya..

Franco probably wouldnt have gone if a stronger hitter were up...Decent gamble. I thought he was safe anyway

It wasn't until the 3rd fight in the upper deck -- by the 2nd inning -- that I realized that I'd always go to the Sunday night game, or occasionally the Saturday afternoon game -- but had never been Friday night at Yankee Stadium.

My favorite fan was not the drunk guys with bad heckles, or the guys trying to provoke fights (saw a Mets jersey that said YanksBlow and had number 69) but rather the woman right in front of me (wearning a pink Jeter jersey) who started having a temper tantrum every at bat -- "do something! you have to do something!"

Several Mets were very upset with the home plate ump. Beltran. Delgado. Franco got within a hair of being run at one point between innings.

Mike: "Far be it for me to make your lineup out for ya, but I like to see Beltran bat second a little bit."

[cackling]

WWSB: "One of you guys might look smart before the day's over"

I heard that as an insult, not a compliment, more like "One of you guys might have a smart idea some day," so I misinterpreted it.

It's going to be hard to take any of your reports on Willie seriously from here on in.

Like you were taking them seriously before?

Look, I screwed up. I said that I misinterpreted Willie's answer. If that wrecks my credibility, then I guess I didn't have any credibility to begin with, which is what I get from your retort. So be it.

Ira should be getting props here for standing up and admitting he was wrong - that doesn't happen much on the net.
