The braves released him, he can play 1B and RF, and i think he's got the pop the Mets bench needs. anyone else interested?

No. He doesn't play first or the outfield particularly well, he's hitting below the Mendoza line, and he's got that annoying hair.

Wow, that's kinda a surprise...I watched him as a Pirate and had him on my fantasy team for a while.

Has a nice swing but for some reason just doesn't hit much. A good fielder, and as you say, versatile as well.

Oh and he's got pretty hair

Complete boom or bust guy as a pinch hitter, seems to do much better in a starting role, but doesn't play enough defense to warrant one.

Career PH stats: .213/.325/.565, with 12 HR but only 11 other hits. He is a very reliable hitter against LHP, but we needed that last season, not now.

I'll pass.

I really like the cooby/sharpie diametrical stances. Poor fielder/good fielder. Annoying hair/pretty hair. I think we should schedule a debate.

If sharpie had met Craig Wilson like my sister and I have, he would be more of a fan, too.

Maybe if Franco retires.

Kind of lost in today's thriller was that Franco's 0fer put his numbers in impossible-to-ignore territory. The next roster pinch will be a dangerous time for him to pick up the phone.

If this were a fantasy baseball league, yes. But because Julio Franco apparently has naked photos of Willie and Omar in flagrante delicto, I don't see him putting a "for rent" sign in his locker any time soon.

Top 10 Signs A Baseball Player Is Too Old:

10. Gets winded putting on his socks
9. Hard slide into second triggers Life Alert pendant
8. While playing outfield, yells at teammates to get the hell off his lawn
7. When buying performance-enhancing drugs, gets the AARP discount

5. Often begins sentences, "As Shoeless Joe Jackson once told me …"
4. He's almost as old as the hot dogs -- seriously, have you ever eaten one of those things?
3. Lost part of his career fighting in World War I
2. During interviews, he thanks the Lord and the makers of Super PoliGrip
1. When he's in the on-deck circle, asks bat boy, "What did I come in here for?"

I haven't ever gotten this.

11. Started his career when the president was not named Bush or Clinton.

seriously, wilson is at the least a franco-upgrade, though i was thinking more about newhan

I always liked Wilson - although his last two seasons don't do much for his resume.
Would I prefer him to Franco? Ummm, Yeah.

By the way, I hope you all realize that is not really me and my sister. But I just love that picture
