nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 i've got a great situation to "get him going"- the starting LF job in New Orleans. As far as Castro goes, he plays a great defensive Catcher which makes him valuable, i don't want him hittig 2nd either. Play Chavez.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 I don't like today's line up much. With Newhan, Gotay, and Castro all starting in place of regulars it appears that Willie is more concerned with resting players than winning today. I can understand resting LoDuca, but Damion Easley shouldn't be in need of a rest and Chavez should still be pretty fresh. If you going to rest Chavez to give some one a start, why not at least do it against a tough lefhanded pitcher?Upon Edit: I like that line up even less. Hopefully, there isn't anything wrong with Beltran.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Lineup hawks in this room. Hawks, I tell you.Edit: And I'm Hawk Taylor. Excellent.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Easley isA) Too bad to be a backup. Too good to yield to a backup.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 First two defensive plays by Newhan he sort of seems awkward out there. Maybe I'm wrong.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Edgy - "Easley is A) Too bad to be a backup. Too good to yield to a backup."The correct answer would be © Better than Gotay or Newhan. I don't personally recall ever arguing the point that Easley was not good enough to be a backup to Valentin. If we were discussing Anderson Hernandez, that would be another matter.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Delgado looks a bit like Keith, turning a 3-6-3 double play.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Ronnie shares an anecdote about Junior Ortiz. "His English wasn't great, and his Spanish wasn't great either." He spoke with a stutter, and he'd chew tobacco. When he'd come to the mound to talk, he'd be stuttering and drooling tobacco juice and it took him ten minutes to say whatever he had to say. This is why it's so nice to have announcers with a history with the team. A crew of new guys wouldn't have Junior Ortiz anecdotes.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Hey, Mets, this game isn't going to win itself.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Can't believe Reyes didn't get an error on that play.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 David Wright's shoes look crazy.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Seo - "David Wright's shoes look crazy."Ugly is more the word that comes to my mind. I wonder how much he's being paid to where those monstrosities.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Is Beltran available to pinch hit for Schoeneweis?
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 c: >>>what are they saying about Alou?<<<Late in the game, now, they say he ain't gonna bat.Earlier in the game, they said he'd probably play tomorrow night in SF.Lotsa video, seems like six or seven shots of him eating sunflower seedsand spittin' the shells over the course of the afternoon.Beltran fouls out to the catcher ... streak over.
Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 There goes the winning streak in Arizona...
