Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 So do we hang (blame?) all this backwards strategy on Willie, or just assume that this is how things would go if Jerry Manual ran the team?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Reyes beats out a bunt to load the bases with no outs. If they can't plate a run(s) this inning I'm going to freakin' bed.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Jeezus, Paul.OIur Beltranian Overlord will save us.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Carlos Beltran decides to take things into his own hands and doubles down the line to drive in Castro and Reyes.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Now it's up to the bullpen to put an end to this marathon.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Finally. The Mets win 6-2 in 12.
Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Always an adventure with Wagner, but finally it's over!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Ugly but effective.I'll take it.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 Randazzo's idiocy allowed both the Nats and the Mets to score one run that they shouldn't have.So he cancels himself out.

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 MASN is really pretty bad. On the two great Zimmerman plays, Easley looked safe by an eye lash (not going to kill Randazzo on that one) but the network never showed a slow-mo replay of the Reyes call at first. I knew it was close, but the replays they showed were of shots that stuck with Zimmerman after he got up and threw and I was a little pissed to not get a good look at that.We definitely got a make-up after that, but I don't think it was a make-up as much as a fuck up, because after that blown call came the most blatant screw up on the DP grounder. That first base up was just terrible.Yeah, the 8th was run strangely. I thought it was Manuel calling the show on his own. I thought Reyes might try to steal second (and think Willie would've done that), but Lo Duca bunted immediately. MASN's Bob Carpenter, who makes me want to cut my own ears off, thought Reyes would run, too. The Mets knew Flores' arm pretty well and he looked good gunning down Reyes on that double-steal, but he probably should've swiped second and then let Lo Douchebag bunt.I got scared when Manuel yanked Smith after one hitter and brought Sele in when he did. I thought we might be in for a long night, and thought he mighta shoulda gone with Burgos there instead, especially with the pitcher's spot in the order coming up, but it ended up not being an issue. I would've felt a lot more comfortable with Sele and Wagner left looking at extras, though.Lots of agita for me from a bullpen that went 6 innings, gave up just 4 hits, and one earned run. Great job, guys, but less walks, please. Less walks. The offense looked putrid and I think it's no coincidence we play like shit in the black uni's.Whack the black already.
