Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Considering the Mets Runs For:Runs Against Ratio, I'd say you're screwing the pitchers.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2007 Author Posted April 1, 2007 could be... right now, i'm at 130 - 189, pitcher points versus hitter points.mets pitchers have allowed 177 runs, the hitters have scored 144. i think the low scoring is hurting the pitchers in that there are fewer points available for wins, saves, and holds...also, there were a lot of one-inning outings, being that it was spring, making it hard for a relievers to really accrue points. and because of the shortness of the outings, starting pitchers had fewer innings available to them, and virtually no quality starts.meanwhile, position players typically played deeper into games, and therefore had a better chance of piling up marathon points.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
