I haven't associated Glavine with the Braves since 2002.

its funny how we associate free agents with their former teams, yet are much quicker to embrace, i think, players acquired via trade, and draft.

and yet, the biggest difference between those acquired via trade or draft, and those acquired via free agency, is that the former had little-to-no choice in the matter, while the latter actively chose to join the team, to the exclusion of all others.

and yet somehow, we view them as the mercenaries, the ones who have to earn our love...

Reyes debut = June 10, 2003
Heilman debut = June 26, 2003

And all of Reyes' time was continuous as either ML service time or on the DL (which counts as ML) while Heilman spent a good chunk of '04 in the minors
