MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 The Tigers had better overall balance in their lineup. The A's had Rickey setting the table for the Bruise Brothers and a closer (Eckersley) who was as hot at the end of the season as Hernandez had been at the start.Gotta' go with the balance and the hot closer.Detroit.Later
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I voted A's. But, on retrospect, that team --- despite having three or four of the best players in baseball --- were as good at coming up short in the post-season as LaRussa's subsequent Cardinal teams.
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I honestly don't remember either team, but I chose the cheezit toothed one
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Tigers. Good talent up and down, good chemistry, and Sparky in the dugout.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 That Sweet Lou Whitaker is pretty good. I miss John Wockenfuss. Is Ron LeFlore still on probation?on edit. Hmm, Wocky didn't play for the Tiggers that year. The Leflore reference was simply a joke. Everyone knows LaVar Burton was a better baseball player anyway.
