Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Sitting in the bar watching the last few innings of the game tonight, I became reaquainted with my inability to breathe while the opposing team is batting.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I hate 4PM starts..and I hate how every sports TV guy or girl asks every Met player how much did it mean to win that first game, or was it what you expected,or were you nervous...come on.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Winning, and feeling so good that you don't want to go to bed, for tomorrow may not be as good.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I know I will hate the Lupica column tomorrow....I fucking the guy.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 ]....I fucking the guy.I wouldn't let that kind of info get out.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 The last time I was this nervous about a baseball game was the Red Sox in 04 ,so I will take this every time.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 I'm sometimes just a little bit sad that because of my focus on the Mets games, I feel as if I have an inadequate idea of what's happening in the other 3 series. But then I remind myself that I waited 6 years for this, and many more prior to 1999.

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 I loved the 4 p.m. start. If I had to be at work, I would have been very antsy sitting in the office. But Mets playoff appearances are rare, and I don't mind using my time off to watch them.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 I loved my first taste of post-season ball. I want more.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 It was amazing to suddenly care so much about the outcome of the game. It was also exhilarating.Like the 1986 Mets, this team waited until October before playing an important game. The 1986 team started out flat, although it may very well have been Mike Scott that flattened them. But Derek Lowe couldn't flatten the 06ers.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 The last time I watched a Mets playoff game in a bar, Zeile's warning track power killed me as Timo tiptoed around the bases.
