Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 I just watched the Bugs cartoon.Man-I hadnt seen that for many many many years. That is a classic. The place looks like Skankee Stadium, but they say its the Polo Grounds. And the catch on top of the Empire State Building - I 4got about that, lol. That cartoon is the highlight of this poor IGT Valadius. Thanks for sharing that.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 That game pretty much sucked live too. LIke I was peeing yesterday, the Mets aren't always going to get away making shitty plays, no matter how often they do. That whole first inning oughta be a do-over, first with the crappy fielding, then with Reyes' absurd steal attempt. I don;t care if he was safe, or looked safe dumb dumb dumb if you don;t make it.Kuo after that made the Mets look absolutely horrible and deserved the win.Maine gives up too many homers.Sweet Caroline sucks. I can't believe they don;t at least change it the f up once in a while. But no matter, the Mets took the crowd out of it early and there was barely a reason to raise voices since. Bleh.Crappy ending to my 6-pack.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I peed on yesterday's win because it contained some of the same goofs that would cost us tonight, and said so.The diff tonite was a real CFer (and better Pitching too). We still played like crap.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 What a stinking pile of shit. Dodger fans in my section too. Insult to injury, walking home across the Pulaski Bridge we get caught as the bridge goes up.The "Do the Wave" graphic was back on Diamondvision -- in the THIRD INNING! Down 2-0! Almost as infuriating as a mostly dead crowd -- announced attendance over 52,000 -- suddenly coming to life for fucking Sweet fucking Caroline.Fuck the guy responsible for the between-inning stuff on the scoreboard.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I was on the B61 stuck at the drawbridge!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I was the guy in the Wright jersey, blue hat.Do you get off at Court Square or Vernon/Jackson to change to the bus? I always did the Vernon/Jackson connection because I come home from work that way, but after aborting my trip to Shea on Tuesday (got the message as soon as I got out of the tunnel) and getting off at Court Square I think that migh tbe faster.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I always get off at Court Square, but mostly because I can't wait to get off the train (this is only worth the effort in you're in the very 1st train car btw). Lucky tonight in that the bus was only a minute from arriving -- can be as many as 13 or 15.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Is that Michael Kay on the mike for the Gashouse Gorrillas?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Ralph mentioned that when he played there were no warning tracks. That surprised me. I realize I know nothing about the history of the warning track. Where was the first one? When did they become standard? Are they mandated? Anyone know? Also, judging from the uniforms the Dodgers were wearing, it looks like the National League rule that player names be on the back of home uniforms has either been repealed or is being ignored.
