Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 History Lesson:Six years ago yesterday Future Wifey's birthday fell on Game 2 of the NLDS (the JT Snow Game) which, guilty of making her spend in a bar with me, was made up for by going to the theatre the next night.Turned out that was a limited run too (Neil Simon's "The Dinner Party" which closed within weeks) which caused us to miss, by second's, Agbayani's 13th inning HR.Just saying.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 If my being at the theater could induce similar Metly heroics, I'll take the hit for the team. And your dates are wrong. Benny's HR didn't occur the night after your future wife's birthday - it was on the 7th, not the 6th.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 OK - you guys convinced me. I was able to call the McCarter box office and exchange tomorrow night's tix for the 14th
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 The irony is that I got better tickets for the substitution. I had Row M for tomorrow, but I'm getting Row C for the 14th
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I hope you find yourself with another conflict on the 14th!
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Well, there's no way it could be a potentially decisive game that night.
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I have a question. Whre would game 5 be played?
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 So they would have to play Sunday night (not that they will) in LA, and Monday night in NY?
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Monday at Shea. A cross country flight (after playing Sunday) that I do not want the Mets to have to make!Just take it at their leisure and get ready for Wednesday!
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Yes, that was my concern. But not to worry, tomorrow night they will win.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Like I said at work today. I do NOT want to see ANY Met game Monday! Next time we are at Shea, had better be Wednesday night!
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 lol, I would like to have Sunday night free, too...
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 It was worth trading the theater tix just to see the MFY's eliminated!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 The Tiger win should lock in the 8:00 start for NLCS Game 1.Hopefully that game will be played at Shea.
Guest SI Metman Guests Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Just confirmed that Joe Buck, Tim McCarver and Dbacks OF Luis Gonzalez will call the NLCS.Thom Brennaman, Steve Lyons and Yankee Manager Lou Pinella get the ALCS. Prepare to mute your tvs and put on WFAN.
