Those words look identical to me.

And last year IIRC, Willie had RH pitch four days in a row and five days in a row (different games, one was not an extension of the other).

I didn't say Heilman had pitched four days in a row. And yes, two is different than four. I didn't say that it was the same. But he did pitch two innings yesterday and I was just commenting that I hope Willie doesn't begin to overwork Aaron, that's all. It was my concern about what might happen, not a statement of what had occurred.

Heilamn has been brillaint except for one night since Sanchez went down, I have no problem with Willie using him like this, perhaps this is what Heilamn wanted,a key role to step into.

Hed nothing to do with what I had said. It was in response to this comment:

Maybe if he had explained what he meant by that better, and not just thrown that out there, it would have been easier to understand and respond to.

Did you say the situations were the same? No. You clearly implied that they were similar and one was relevant to the other.

In response to your question, I think a manager must know the limits of each of his pitchers and decide accordingly. I remember when they used to say "sinkerballers pitch better with a tired arm - makes the ball sink better". And managers wouldn't hesitate to use sinkerballers several days in a row.
I've noticed that Aaron, who used to rely on his changeup as his out pitch,is throwing more and more fastballs recently. If the FSY gun is correct, he has hit 96MPH several times. Now that he has apparently changed his pitching style, I don't know if they have sufficient information to know how much is too much (too often) for him to pitch. In such a case, I would tend to err on the side of caution. As a general rule during the regular season, if a "short man" pitched two innings yesterday, the most I would pitch him is one inning today and give him a day off tomorrow.

You and I say he's pitched two days in a row. JD says three. Either way, I think that should be his limit, especially with such a large lead in the standings. The last thing the team needs now is another injured pitcher.

I think the fact that Heilman is pitching out of the pen is the reason why he doesn't throw as many different pitches as when he was a starter.

It wasn't even recent, but the 3rd game post-Sanchez: He was used in all of 'em .screwed up the third. And that IMO wasn't so much an issue of the 3rd day work but that WWSB left him out there to take the punishment when he wasn't at his best. As I recall it, he had Jacobs up in a spot, couple guys on, but WWSB didn't go to any of the 4 lefties at his disposal, Jacobs walked then Cabrera killed us.

Kinda cool that the PA system played Stevie Wonder's ''Sir Duke.'' when El Duque got out of that fifth inning jam striking out Barmes ,Jennings and Carroll then pumped his fist as he left to Stevie.

From where I was sitting, it would've been near impossible for anyone without Jose Reyes-esque speed and some luck to have made that catch.
