Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Gary and Ron are wearing matching olive green jackets. I don't know whether they planned that or not, but they look pretty silly.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Mets have Beltran and Delgado on base for Wright, both teams back in regular uniforms thankfully.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Maine with three ground ball outs, 24 scoreless innings and counting.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I'm getting the Washington feed. One of the Nationals announcers said that Brian Bannister is on the 60-day DL. Is that true? Did I miss something?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 From the Daily News this morning:]ZIPPING ALONG: John Maine takes a 23-inning scoreless streak into tonight's outing against Nats righthander Jason Bergmann (0-0, 8.14 ERA), who is making his second big-league start. Maine's streak is 8 2/3 innings shy of the franchise record set by Jerry Koosman in 1973.I guess we can now make that 7 2/3.So Maine needs a complete game shutout if he wants to break the record today.I'd kind of hate to see a Jerry Koosman record fall, but Maine has my permission to pitch a shutout today.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 ]5/30/06 Brian Bannister Transferred from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list. That's from Mets.com
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Oh, that was on May 30. I thought they were describing a recent development. So Brian's 60 days are up.Thanks for the clarification.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Maine's scoreless streak is the longest by a Mets starting pitcher since Leiter went 25 scoreless in 1998, Mark Guthrie went 27 scoreless in 2002.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Maine is HBP to start the third, and Reyes triples him home. 1-0 Mets
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 LoDuca's first pitch single brings home Reyes to make it 2-0
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Escobar misplay's Beltran's hit to make it an RBI triple. 3-0 Mets
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 And now Maine has three scoreless innings today. (And the streak is at 26.)3-0 Mets after 3.I wonder if Jerry Koosman even knows that his record is in trouble? Is he watching from his home in Minnesota?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Gary and Ron talking about the Green rumors and they bring up names like Jeff Jenkins and Preston Wilson, preston is not signed beyond this season.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Nick Johnson homers and the streak is over.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Nick Fucking Johnson's solo homer ends Maines scoreless inning streak at 26.3-1 Mets in the fourth.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Now lets see if Maine can continue to pitch a good game, one hit through 4.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Milledge's infield single brings home Mr. Wright and gives the Mets a 4-1 lead in the 6th.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Maine has suddenly run out of steam in the 6th with an infield hit, a 2-run Soriano homer, and a single. One on, none out, and a 4-3 Mets lead.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Feliciano is brought in to face Nick Fucking Johnson with a runner on second and one out. Feliciano immediately coughs up a single that Beltran misplays, and the runner on second scores the tying run easily.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Michael Tucker's sac fly brings home Mr. Wright to make it 6-4. Porn Stash slides in safely to second base on a close play.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 And Feliciano does a job keeping Soriano from coming to the plate as the tying run.Mets.Rock.They do.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Sonia, your man is bunting for a hit with two outs.Eh.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Leave Sonia out of this. The woman has suffered enough.Meanwhile, Heilman comes in to pitch the 8th with a 6-4 lead.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Now the tying run is on with Zimmerman up.Kerri, talk to your man.
