Braves going to the pen in the second! You know what that means ....

... bad news for the Braves. It's too early to post it in the game, but I wouldn't
mind someone digging up the four bagheads should our fortune continue.

Yes--it means Im going to have an awful fantasy baseball day.
:)
But Ill trade that for a sweep of the Braves anyday.

I come to bury Braves, not to praise them.

Attention Keith Hernandez: Missouri is surrounded by Eight states, not five. Tennessee is surrounded by just as many.

Even the double plays are ripped hard.

The Mets have definately changed whatever positive mindset the Braves may have had In terms of going for the division this weekend.

We didnt need to chop em up---but it sure it shhhhhhhweet.

Valentin with a lead off double talks right back to em.

Glavine set to bunt--fails to get it down and wiffs.

And Reyes hits a line single to right so hard Val has to stop at third..

Does Jose steal second?
Braves think he might with the pitchout there.

He does steal second!
They cant call that indifference there, can they?

Not this time Carlos--the other Carlos gets a chance.

Keith is sharp today-"2 and 0,sacks drunk...."

Delgado gets an RBI for the bases loaded walk. 8-3 Mets :)

Darn - Mr. Wright just misses a grand slam.

Yes - I'm selfish....

This game is kinda boring.

Valentin now has two doubles on the day.

And after that grand slam earlier, Beltran has now homered in six of the last seven contests vs. the Braves.

MVP time is going to be interesting- especially if Wright gets back into his primo groove between now and seasons end.

I can live with this kind of boring. Especially in Atlanta.

Beats the friggin' ulcers of the past several years ;)

Yea-this is a good kind of boring.

And this game aint over--Id expect the Braves to make some noise before the days end.

As if on cue, they have runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the 4th.

...and over in Philly Utley keeps that streak going.

Im not afraid to tell ya--I really like that Utley guy. Everything about him.
He plays the game the way it should be played.

have you heard about how he is handling post games interviews when asked about his streak?
He's ignoring the questions and giving answers relating to events that happened in the game.

A reporter will ask- "Do you feel the pressure of the streak? Can you keep it going?"
And he'll answer- " I think Howards homer was the big hit today--He's hittin the ball real well. We have a good team here and we just have to play hard and keep getting good swings and we are in any game...."

He ignores them and answers a question he feels should have been asked-I love it.

Crap - blink and the lead is cut to 8-6!

Darren Oliver is loosening up in the bullpen. Glavine isn't going to get out of this one with a win.

The 4th inning is finally over. The Mets lead is down to 2.

This would be a real shame.

But he's gotta do his part--he was spotted 7.

he gets the third out--- but up to 100 pitches.
Do we give him the chance since he got out of that with the lead?
or just bring Oliver right in next half?

I say let him start the inning in the 5th.

How can Reyes swing at that low inside slider--how can he be so fooled on that pitch.
He constantly is too.

If he sees the ball start to take a dip---just lay off.

With runners on the corners and two out, the Braves go to the pen for their third pitcher of the day.

X-Man's fly out ends the inning. 9-6, going to the bottom of the 5th.

This has the makings of a long afternoon. At least the Mets have the day off tomorrow to rest up.
