Mets lose. For the record, I think Heilman can still be a big part of the bull-

Then Pelfrey lost the strike zone. My seat got less comfortable. The food started to taste bad. The humidity rose. Blech.

The only thing that kept the crowd awake was Heilman, who sent half of them home and gave the rest an excuse to exercise their vocal chords.

BTW, I was in Loge section 10 reserves, was it me or did it seem Shea had more foot traffic than normal, like people still looking for their seats in the 4th, ect

Didn't seem like a "normal fan" kind of crowd

There was definately a Dodger crowd today, a lot of people coming for 5 innings of mid-game baseball.

This was a frustrating game to attend. The polar opposite of yesterday - today we had the lead and just gave it back. Blech.

But MK was on the field before the game for the National Anthem, and we snuck out of the picnic area to see Greg in the late innings, so there were some good memories of the day, despite the suckitude on the field.

That homer by Delgado was a thing of beauty!

I was sitting next to MK at the time - it took everything in me to limit it to the puppy training scolding.

Where were you guys sitting?

BTW, in addition to the Dodger-esque late arrivals/early departures, the empty seats next to me were taken up twice by people! Well there were also two kids trying to sneak a closer look for a minute I guess.

I guess Loge is closest you can get sans a field ticket but it does get interesting. One couple (man and woman) sat down during Pelfrey's meltdown and I was on the verge of saying that I was putting the inning squarely on their heads! But I remembered the last time I did that to a complete stranger (socialite told someone in my party to shut me up) so I decided to keep my mouth shut (maybe I'll put that in the things I didn't say thread in NBF)

Next time in Aug for the 1986 reunion and then some October Baseball

We started out in the picnic area, but at that point we had moved to the upper deck, first base side.

Not only an ugly game but about 3-1/2 hours worth of ugly.
Games like that are tough to watch even if you're winning.

The Heilman play is an example of where I think it's not only appropriate to boo your own man - but virtually mandatory!
On the other hand if you went dumping a player every time he made a dumb play you'd have no one left after a short time.
