Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Here's a list of nine Mets, in alphabetical order:David Cone. Shawon Dunston. Lenny Harris. Danny Heep. Orel Hershiser. Felix Millan. Jesse Orosco. Nolan Ryan. George Stone. They all have something in common, something that's unique to them. There's nobody else who is eligible to join the club, although Tom Glavine, Orlando Hernandez, and Eli Marrero have reasons to be hopeful. Can you guess what it is?
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 They've all never been in my kitchen.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Really? All other 781 Mets have? Cool!
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 They've played both for and against the Mets in the postseason?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 DING!We have a winner. Nice job!
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I was able to come up with seven of them without looking. The UMDB helped me find the last two. The two I didn't get on my own were Lenny Harris and George Stone.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Nicely done. I'm trying to think of what former Mets might join the list this year.Who is Payton playing for?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Other opponent possibilites are Mike Piazza, Armando Benitez, and Kenny Rogers.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Hampton, I guess. He didn't call it quits right? Or is he injured for the year?

(The original list looked awfully short; now I know why.) Sowwy. On edits: Dotel's rehabbing his elbow for AAA Columbus.

Wait, that's a bad thought for several reasons.Besides Piazza, what Met playoff teams did those guys play for?
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Payton is in Oakland. Kenny Rogers is in Detroit. The NL West is wide open, so there's a chance we'll see Piazza or Benitez in October.
