We're still winning thies series Pythagoras-wise, 1.6 games to 0.4 (or 1.563 to 0.437 if you prefer the 1.84 exponent).

The Mets have still shut down baseball's mightiest hitter to the tune of 0-7 with a walk over the two games.

We've got a day game today and we need to gake this NLCS-preview series, not Pythaogras-wise, but reality-wise, people. Now pick your sulking heads up, start typing, and get in the game. Stop draggin' your freakin' wagon.

the balls to throw some youngin' to the Cardolves this afternoon instead of
Lima. Never liked him, don't now, want him gone.

I don't see how our youngin's could be counted on to give us anything more than Lima has. The only good youngin' we have is said to rely on his fastball too much, and I shudder to think what the Cards' lineup would do to that fastball if he can't get his breaking stuff over.

I'm depressed because we don't have a #3 to slot in ahead of Trax and Bannister. And unless we pick one up, it's going to be tough to win anything this year.

Anyway, enough wound-licking, Marquis is hittable, we win today, we take the series on the road against the best team in the NL, and Lima is "due" for a good start.

I hear ya'. I do. But I've got something for a mild state of depression. And that's Jose Lima's modestly encouraging numbers versus St. Louis batsmen.

It won't help an overwhelming state of depression --- ennui, das niederdrücken --- shit like that, but for stuff like doelfulness, dolorousness, and the blahs, it's good for what ails you. Been proven effective in 61% of heavyheartedness cases also.
