Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Sports Illustrated writer Rick Reilly writes about caddying the likes of John Daly, Donald Trump, Jack Nicklaus, Casey Martin etc. Just started it and am enjoying it so far. Review to come when I finish.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I read that one - it was enjoyable.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2006 Author Posted May 25, 2006 I meant to give my thoughts on this but forgot. It was a fun read, certainly a quick read, perfect for commutes etc. Reilly has a very enjoyable, witty writing style that does not get old even over the course of a full-length novel. (By comparison, I tried reading Bill Simmons' book and couldn't get through the first few chapters). Basically, the book is about Rick Reilly caddying for guys like Jack Nicklaus, John Daly, Casey Martin, Donald Trump, Tom Lehman, David Duval and others. It's funny, informative, and at times even touching and inspirational. I recommend it...even if you don't know anything about golf.
