Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 there's no doubt that Wrights a good fielder.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Eddie C, no matter what you think of him, does have a soothing voice. I wonder if he narrates any books on tape.My first post as Jesse. That's a great avatar. Well done, admins.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Elster88 - "I think the fact that they DO seem so concentrated in the ninth could be a point in favor of Wright being a good fielder. Maybe he only makes errors in "big" spots, so he actually is an excellent fielder."I find that remark particularly funny, considering you currently carry the designation of Armando Benitez.Nice job of pitching out of the inning by Bradford. Let's get some runs and end this thing.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I love Mr. Wright, but I don't think that he's a naturally gifted fielder.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 And I think their being concentrated in the 9th is why we remember them and comment on them the next time Wright makes an error.Reyes probably has 3 or 4 this year and i can't remember a single one of them, but i have 3 of wright's stuck in my head because of when they came. if reyes made an error tommorow in the 9th i don't think anyone who start calling him error-prone or question his fielding.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Leave Floyd on the bench. Valentin with his fourth hit.(SC = 99.99)
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 lead off single---nice.thats 6 for last 7.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Valentin decided to have a hot week and save his undeserved roster spot for another month or two
The Big O Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Nady got removed in the double-switch, Floyd batting 9th, Valentin shifts to right. And now he's 4-for-5 on the day.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Lead off single by Valentin. Come on Cliff. This would be a great time for one of your big Bang-Pow jobs to right field.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I have seen too many of Floyds bats breaking the last few weeks. He needs new wood.Ks for the 1st out.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Matsui got his hit for today. Pull him.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 All whipping boys bringing the lumber.Haven't seen Matsui hitting righty for a bit.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Damn! Why can't more of the Mets hit like Valentin.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 OUCH.Beltran cheats himself with a check swing strikeout.I get your point Nymr83, that they have been errors in the 9th inning of close games.Maybe its the "my worst fear" syndrome, which would be Wrights worst fear, to make an error in that situation.Wright makes the play there for the 1st out of the 10th.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 ohhh..what a play by Valentin...thats big.Throws out Weeks tryin for 2.awsum.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Damn game over just like that, Hall with a home run.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww dooky.
Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Ya think this goes under "WWSB out-manages himself"? You lose in 10 with your best reliever out of the game?
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 No. Yet, Wags should have finished the 9th. This one is on leaving 13 men on base.
