Even in losses that he's responsible for by serving up meatballs to Andruw Jones.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 In Glavine's case, I think 8 innings and one earned run is a very good contribution towards winning, and deserving of a good chunk of points.Are you sure it isn't an anti-Glavine bias that caused you to give him only one point?
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Maybe, but I factored in that a) a loss in an important game against a major division rival didn't deserve many points to the Mets overall so I only awarded the minimum 6 Glavine's pitching sucess was aided by the winds and the Braves scrub lineup and c) the Jones homer and Wright's errors were responsible for the the loss so Glavine loses a point as co-goat du jour.

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 I'll always give points to a pitcher who goes 6 innings. Even if he gives up 7 earned runs, I'll throw him at least a half point for sticking in there long enough to save the bullpen a little work.

It depends on what else happened that game.I only gave him two because of Nady and DelgadoI also think Nady deserved more than what he got.
