Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 AH hits into a DP.Saved a run with the DP tonite, but has twice failed to get a guy in from 2nd.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Hernandez grounds into a double play.ah, well.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 DP gets Pedro an additional inning?EDIT: nope, decoy move to warm-up Heilman more.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Hope so. He's looked good and his pitch count is pretty low.I'd be comfortable with Heilman in there for two, though--really, Willie can't make a bad call here.

Guest martin Guests Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 i would like to see more blowouts so jorge julio gets a chance to figure himself out. maybe 6 runs in the top of the ninth to clear some space for that dude.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Pedro only 86 pitches! You know what? I'm glad they took him out. He's still getting back into it.We need him for the stretch run this year, and don't forget he got tired of baseball early last year.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2006 Author Posted April 12, 2006 What Elster said, Pedro was amazin tonight and Heilman is doing his thing, it's all good.

The guy can throw, but he can't work a batter. He's a slinger and nothing more.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Deep fly caught at the track by Beltran.Wright, playing in, makes a nice play on a high chopper to his right. Strong throw ends the inning.Ninth inning. I hope Wags isn't tired.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Wright with a nice play there. He was playing in on Watson, who poked a ball to Wright's right. Wright snagged it, did a 270, then threw out Watson to end the inning.Very nice.

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 I agree with needing a 6-run inning here.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Old Man River doesn't help, going down swinging. Why hasn't Willie figured out the double switch yet? I'd rather see Heilman for two.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Double switch would have compromised the defense (putting either Woodward or Valentin at 2B).

Take Nady out of there and throw in Chavez. Defense is solid and Heilman gets a two-inning save. Now it's gonna be Billy. I'm a little nervous.
Guest martin Guests Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 cmon william wagner, bring the heat! get that arm going, i wanna see triple digits this year at shea. i dont think i have ever seen trips in person.

Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 One on, one out.Slider time? Lets turn two.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 That's the Billy Wagner we signed.Game over, Mets win. I heart Good Bullpens
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2006 Author Posted April 12, 2006 WOW, best start since the 1985 season, that was a good game to watch, lots of positive things, Pedro, Eric and Billy to mane three.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Wags looked a little inconsistent there, but pretty damn solid. Sweet win. I like this team. But I find myself wondering when the bottom's gonna fall out. I remember stretches like this last year (well, I remember TWO stretches like this last year) surrounded by some seriously shitty play. Enough of the negativity, though! A fine win!
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 New York Mets. Best record in baseball. Good night all.
