SNY pre-game featured a nifty clip of Ralph Kiner & Bob Murhpy doing a promo commercial 2 weeks before the Mets innaugural season.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Sounds like Beltran got a nice reception for his first AB.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 CF Eric Reed just made an amazing catch of a long drive by Wright into the right-center gap. Not only did he have to lay out to catch it but he got a great jump, took a good route and ran a long way. The equal of Hernandez's catch, IMO. Mets still get on the board with a first-pitch double by Reyes, sac bunt by LoDuca, single up the middle by Beltran, HBP of Delgado, SB of 3rd by Beltran, sac fly by Wright. Floyd popped up to end the inning.2-0 Mets going into the second.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 The Fish should try and hit the ball to the left side.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 That was an awesome play by Reed. A double against most MLB outfielders. That said, I've considered the Marlins and my conclusion is they could easily lose 110 games this year. The Mets really should account for 13 or 14 of them.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Jacobs homers!I miss Jake but lets be honest we needed Delgado.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 We'll see. Jacobs is trying to prove otherwise.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Hi, I'm Xavier Nady. I'm slugging 1.071. Damn glad to meet you.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Hi, I'm Xavier Nady. Hell, yeah, you can slug higher than a thousand. Total bases over at-bats So if you start the season with a homer, you're slugging 4.000. Until somebody figures a way to get five bases in an at-bat, that is the highest you can slug. Me, I'm slugging 1.071. And I'm damn glad to meet you.
Guest cooby Guests Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 You look like a fine young man. Are you married? My daughter isn't married. But she's taken...Oh, and thanks for the impromptu slugging tutorial!
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Pretty good game for Trachs so far. And DAVID goes deep to left!
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 2 more runs thanks to a double from Delgado and a single by the MVP.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Is Marlin kosher? you're making me hungry...Lets save some runs for tommorow (or Sunday when I'll be there.)
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 We're looking pretty good tonight. Patient at bats, steady defense, good pitching--I could get to like this. Trachs had the guppies flopping around in front of the plate. 6 IP, 3 H, 1 BB, 6 K. Pretty unusual line for Trachs. Bradford in to pitch and Willingham and Uggla both ground out.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 another lame "yankees suck" chant. save it for the interleague games please.
dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 "Resop" is "poser" backwards.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 reyes 3-run homer makes it 9-1.For Schaffer purposes i'm done here, alot of guys are going to deserve points tonight so i gotta give it to the guys who did something before the game was out of hand.
